Are you the parents/caregivers/foster parents of a child/adolescent/young adult who may be living with Mental Illness?
Do you feel there has always been an issue managing the behaviors, rages and you haven’t any idea what is happening?? You are NOT ALONE!!! ADHD is a form of mental illness also as it is caused by a brain disorder so you are DEFINITELY welcome at our support group and class. And even if there has been no diagnosis but just serious behavior issues at home/school/neighborhood this class is for YOU!!!
NAMI Snohomish County offers a FREE 6-session course for parents/caregivers/foster parents of these youth who may have mental health diagnoses and need help—YOU need help—the class is called NAMI BASICS.
Two volunteer parents who have “walked the walk” and have reared these special needs youth and have had extensive national training lead this program, developed by Dr. Teri Brister, the National Director of NAMI Programs for Young Families in Washington, D.C. and herself a “special” parent.
These classes are offered only in the Spring and Fall so NOW is the time to call and get registered. We have limited space and you will receive free 4” binders of materials and resources. So get registered NOW. To help you until classes begin, please come to our MONTHLY FREE Parent Support Groups (See drop down under Education and Support). See the attached flier for some of the descriptors some of our graduates use to describe the class! We’ve graduated over 80 parents and this Spring will be our SEVENTH class in Snohomish County!)
